Franklin Watching Franklin

I posted a clip of Franklin running around and this clip is of Franklin watching himself. He LOVES to watch himself. As you can see he totally gets a kick out of watching himself on TV. Listen as he runs off...he says "I do it again" meaning he wants to watch again. I think he was going to the kitchen to make some popcorn and get a soda so he can settle in for a long evening of watching himself over and over again.

Kisses from Franklin

For all those that know Franklin, know that he is a lover, not a fighter. He's also quite the actor as well. However, he mostly puts on a show when he has a bigger and better audience than just an audience of one; mom.

I was trying to get Franklin to tell me he is "so tired" because it's one of the cutest things he does lately. He really puts on a dramatic flare (sp?). One would think that he really and truly is tired. Instead he just wanted to run around and then watch himself run around. He loves to watch "Franklin on TV" which I think is typical of most of us. Except at his age he isn't criticizing his performance or his weight, or his hair and skin, he's just entertained. Now why is it that we can't watch ourselves and be purely entertained as well?? Although he did not perform as I wanted, he did perform in true Franklin style by kissing and loving on the camera. He is the best hugger and love giver I know. Nothing warms my heart than hearing him say he loves me then running over and throwing his little arms around my neck. If you're lucky, he'll do the same for you. All you have to do is ask nicely.

Again I apologize for the not-so-great video quality...first we're just using a regular digital camera and second, I shot the video horizontal and had to flip the image making it look a little distorted...

More fun at Mugga's house

This past Sunday we went up to Mugga's house for Sunday dinner. Each summer a few horses come and stay in the field behind her house. If any of you have seen the "Riding the Range" Backyardigans episode, you will know that horses LOVE apples. How convenient that my mom has a whole tree full of apples...well the tree was full until it got so hot the apples fell off and littered half her back yard.

So we picked a few bucket full of apples and fed the horses. I was a bit anxious about letting Franklin get too close. Luckily he was quite content with standing a ways off and chucking the apples at the horses. Quite the picture of simpler days gone by...

Lil' guy on the go

I FINALLY got Franklin to wear his helmet. I know, I know, he and his little bicycle aren't going anywhere fast enough to cause damage to that adorable head, but I just figured since he is so obsessed with every bicyclist and motorcyclist who wears one that he would want one.

We bought him this helmet about two months ago and have been trying to get him to wear it ever since. Finally after watching some cartoon (I think it's the new adventures of tigger and pooh) he took some interest. He only wore it for about 5 minutes, but that's a good start and just enough time to snap some pictures.

I should've learned my lesson

My little guy is such a busy body. He loves to DUMP and to make MESSES. I know I posted a blog a few months ago where he dumped a whole box of cheerios on the carpet. Well he did it again, except this time it was only a quarter of a box of Honey Bunches of oats and he did confine the mess to the dining table.

I thought he was done with his breakfast, so we cleaned up and I let him down from his chair, went and checked my email and heard the noise of spilling cereal from my room. When I came out to see what he had done, he flashed me a big charming smile and said, "Mom, I made a mess with the cereal" as he was shoving some in his mouth.

I almost got mad, I promise I did, but he was so cute and it was my fault for leaving the cereal out where it can be reached AND he was eating. I can never get mad when my child eats because he's so picky some days and seems to eat next to nothing, so the more food that gets in him the better. Anyone else with picky eaters????

Lil' girl on the go

So I only have about 7 weeks until my due date at the beginning of October. I've been having a hard time carrying this little girl. Nothing life-threatening, but I admit, it's been hard. For about the last two weeks my lower back has been in excruciating pain and so have my hips and my hip sockets. The Dr. said all my ligaments are softening to help ease the way for the baby. He also said it's more common in second pregnancies and as you get older. (He better not be calling me old :)

Anyhow, everything seems so soft that it can barely hold up my torso. I get up in the middle of the night and try to stand, I feel like a leg is going to pop off at the hip. I can't describe it so well, but if any of you mom's know what I'm talking about, please let me know.

The softening seems to have slowed down the past couple of days as I don't seem to be in such pain and I feel like I can walk around without losing a lower limb or having my body snap in half at the waist. I guess it really is all about hormones and all that stuff that prepares one for labor.

As for Baby B...she's moving around and getting quite big. I'm sure she's going to have really wide shoulders because I feel them quite well when she rolls around.

We still do not have a name for her...Frank has shot down Charlotte, Lucy, and Lillian (my grandmother's middle name). All of which I think are quite feminine, beautiful, classic names. So keep those names coming.

I'm not so good...

...at this blogging thing. I have friends who blog at least once every other day. I'm lucky if I do it once a month.

I was going to post some pictures, but my husband has the camera. He's doing some detective work. I'll let you know how that all goes when I get the camera back.

As for our lives, we are so blessed. Little Franklin is talking so much. Some would say too much. Just yesterday we took the Frontrunner train to Mugga's house for a visit. While on the train, Franklin made friends with a 3-year old boy named Burton and his Grandpa. Well he mostly made friends with the Grandpa because he was such a good listener. Franklin told him about every tractor and every car and every horse and every cool house he saw all the way from Salt Lake City to Layton. (For those who don't know how far that is, it's about 1/2 an hour on the train.)

After a while, poor little Burton was getting jealous. You could tell Franklin had stolen his thunder and all his attention from the Grandpa. What can I say?? My child is adorable and thinks that everyone thinks the same. He's a lot like his Daddy, and his Uncle Gabe (two of the cutest guys I know).

As for me, well I'm doing my best to make it to the blessed due date in October. That's really not all that far away now. It's really hard for me to breath and to move at night. Luckily the weather is in the low 90's now and not the high 90's and into the 100's. It's funny how just 10 degrees in heat can make such a difference.

As for daddy Franklin, he's busy working. He moved into a new office which is HUGE compared to some of the others. I'm so proud of him. He's worked so hard and deserves it.
