Hours of fun

Franklin loves to do projects and Beatrice loves to help, and Solomon...well, he likes to be a part of the action too.
Here the kids were making a car out of a cardboard box. Don't worry. Beatrice wasn't really going to hit Solomon with that hammer. She loves her little Brother too much to do that.
In fact she loves Solomon so much she has to be with him ALL the time. I can't tell you how many times she has climbed into his crib to take a nap with him or to wake him up. I've had to lock the door on the bedroom just to keep her out. We all love Solomon. I can't believe he's almost 7 months old. He's already crawling every where and he's getting pretty good and climbing onto and over things. Pretty soon he'll be pulling himself up on things and starting to walk. NOOOOOOOO!! I just can't have that yet. Why do my children keep defying me every time I tell them to stop growing up so quickly?!?!

Christmas has come and gone

We had a fantastic Christmas and I have no idea why I haven't taken the time to document it. It must be the yucky, icky, cold, no fun for anyone weather! I am miserable! So what better way to cheer someone up than to post pictures??

This is Beatrice right before she saw all the presents under the tree. She wore the crown to bed and all that day. A neighbor friend who babysits gave that to Beatrice and I think she wore it for three days straight only taking it off to wash her hair. But once it was washed the crown went right back on.

Franklin wanted a Volcano Kit from Santa sooooo badly. Lucky for him he was a good boy, so Santa got him just what he wanted. It took us almost a whole week to get his volcano fully functioning. We had to first make the mold and wait 24 hours for it to dry and then we had to get the erupting tablets from our friends' house. We had left them there during our Christmas Brunch at their house. We really didn't need to wait for the erupting tablets because they were pretty weak. We put all 30 in the volcano with some club soda and they hardly did a thing. So we stuck to the tried and true formula of mixing baking soda and vinegar and food coloring. We've gotten hours of fun from that one little volcano!

Solomon didn't really care about presents, but he was enamored by the Christmas lights. The little guy has been scooting for over a month now. I don't know how he got way under the Christmas tree undetected. I was busy making Christmas cookies with the older kids and casually watching Solomon scoot around the living room. He was cooing and babbling the whole time so I just kept listening to him. When I looked over the couch, he was nowhere to be seen. I guess I was just a little too casual watching him because he somehow managed to get all the way under the Christmas tree. I knew he was getting fast, but I didn't think he was that fast.
