We registered Franklin for tennis camp this summer. Last summer we did soccer camp and he loved it, this summer we thought we'd do tennis camp through our local recreation department. It was fun for him, but I don't think he really learned much at all. He got far more out of soccer camp.
We went every day for two weeks and every day for two weeks the kids played games. Only for about five minutes of each 40 minute session did the kids ever really swing their rackets with the instructor. Maybe the instructor really knows what's best for 5-yr olds. My son already loves to play the game, so I wanted more technique and instruction instead of play.
Aside from my disappointment, it was great fun for the kids. There was a playground right next to the tennis courts that Solomon and Beatrice played on. Most days though, Solomon really just wanted to be with Franklin swinging a racket and chasing balls as well.
And here's Beatrice looking as cute as ever, even with a scratched up chin.
